CNN actually provided a pretty decent breakdown of who does what in a shipping port. Read it and remind me why I should panic. Here's a relevant sample:

• Run businesses that load and unload cargo
• Employ stevedores
• Manage cruise ship and passenger terminals
• Build port facilities
