Environmentalist Horse Shit
Environmental activists and lawyers are seek gain political leverage and cash from farmers by attempting to have animal manure declared hazardous material under the Superfund law.
It should come as no surprise that congress is largely responsible for this pile of environmentalist crap by not protecting farmers with a specific exemption from a law that was designed to deal with hazardous industrial chemical waste.
So now we have a definitive answer to the question what do you get when you combine an environmentalist and a lawyer.

Manure contains the food, water and air that a cow ingests. I love the smell of good manure.
What is going to be just as ridiculous, is the proposed and corporate-driven requirement that farm animals be chipped with RFID devices. This will also put undue hardships on small farmers. "The NAIS [National Animal Identification System] means more government, more regulations, more fees, more federal spending, less privacy, and diminished property rights. If you spread manure on your lawn, or mix with your garden's soil, it nurishes it. Real hazardous stuff there.
