Governor Palin's Hate Crime
This election was mostly over for me when the parties had settled on their presumptive nominees. I want to see neither of them in the White House.
McCain's pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate was the closest ting to a bright light in an otherwise dismal electoral future. That the left and the media (redundant I know) have done there savage best to tear the governor down is clear.
The Alaska legislative committee investigating "TrooperGate" issued it's report. It is in my opinion completely meaningless. But no doubt then media will have a field day.
The entirety of the first finding, which is all the media will report, amounts to finding her guilty of a hate crime - with no underlying criminal act.
In a sane world this would treated as the partisan garbage it so clearly is. But then in a sane world this investigation and report would have never happened.

* Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch
Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides: The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.
*Although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
I added emphasis to the only part that I feel matters. The firing of Commissioner Monegan was proper, legal and with the Governor's authority under the Alaska Constitution. End of story.Ethics Act.
