Helping the Economy

I mentioned a while back that we were doing our bit to boost the economy by adding on to the house. Construction is going to start soon. I worked up a quick mock-up of what the house should look like when done.

I will be documenting the construction as it proceeds. When its all done I'll post a comparison of my version to the finished reality.

1 over here, house owners are not even allowed to build extensions. unless they are well connected or architects by profession. anyways most of us live in "bird cages" ie: apartment blocks.

good luck with your project.

2 Over here, all it takes is a willingness to write very large checks that you can't afford!

3 LOL Tell me about it. This saturday we're having new windows installed, plus various other work. It was painful to write the very large number on the check, and that was just the deposit!

4 In our previous house we replaced windows too. All 28 of them! even without the "various other work, that was painful. But I believe we got all of that back when we sold, plus in vastly lower heating costs so eventually that pain will fade.
