Second Hand Army Let Us Win
I hate when this happens.
You fight and struggle. You keep pushing even when the going gets tough. You make it through to the end victorious. Then you find out the other guy let you win.
According to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives the only reason Iraqi and U.S. forces succeeded in Basra is because the Iranians let us win.
What exactly does that blithering idiot, Nancy Pelosi, believe prompted the Mullahs of Iran to show the Great Satan goodwill?
Was it the diplomacy of the Bush Administration that softened the hatred that leads them to supply the weapons killing American soldiers?
Certainly Pelosi can't believe that.
Does she believe that they made this goodwill gesture to better position themselves for the coming of the Obama Ascendancy?
I know she doesn't believe that the reason for the success in Basra is that the Iraqi army, with U.S. support, kicked the asses of Iran's proxy army. Reality is not something that is allowed to enter her warped world view.
Maybe she was trying to insult them by implying that the Mahdi Army lost because it buys it's supplies second hand at Goodwill of Iran.

Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal. And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians.
