The Last Founding Idea?
People in he office have been lightheartedly complaining about the loss of one hour of their weekend with the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. I don't tend to regulate my own bedtime based on the clock but rather on how tired I feel. Getting up in the morning is another story - that's on a fairly rigid schedule so today I am feeling the effect of missing an hour of sleep. (My own fault I know)
The idea behind Daylight Savings Time originated with Ben Franklin in an essay making fun of the French.
Here's what I've been wondering all morning. Why do we still do this every year since we seem to have already abandoned most of the other ideas of the Founders?
