The Taxman Cometh

It seems of late I have become a fan of vaguely futile gestures to if not stick it to "The Man" to at least try to annoy him a little. When I first hear of taxcheatstamps.com I thought it was amusing. I've even, occasionally checked the bills in my hand to see if they had been stamped. But I guess it's probably too soon for a lot of bills bearing the signature of the new Tax Cheat of the Treasury to be found in the wild. Making the odds of finding one pretty long.

But I guess the guy who created the tax cheat stamps has annoyed The One enough to get slapped down. That is to get a notice that he's being audited by the IRS.

Today I received a letter from the IRS that my 2007 tax returns are being audited. Less than one month after launching TaxCheatStamps.com.

There's a list of "proposed changes" they want to make to my 2007 return that would require me to pay almost $14,000 in taxes, penalties, and interest. All the "discrepancies" they list are bogus and I have documentation to prove it.

This is sufficiently rotten that I immediately ordered a stamp. I suggest you do the same. And maybe a t-shirt and a few bumper stickers.
