This is Too Delicious

I love coffee. I love a good cup of black coffee. In fact I love several every day. I have no use for overblown overpriced self-important pretentious coffee concoctions. So when I saw this at Instapundit I just had to make note of it for all my half-cafe low-fat latte sipping friends.

McDonald’s beats Starbucks in coffee smackdown
In the ultimate coffee smackdown, it was yuppie Starbucks vs. Ronald McDonald.
And the clown won.
Consumer Reports magazine said today that in a test conducted at two locations of each emporium, its tasters found McDonald's coffee to be "decent and moderately strong" with "no flaws." On the other hand, the Starbucks brew "was strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open."
The March issue of the magazine, due out Monday, thus advises, "Try McDonald's, which was cheapest and best."
You want fries with that?

1 I wonder if that was McDonald's usual blend or the new Newman's Own/Green Mountain/McDonald's blend. The new one is great. I used to get it at the Milford McDonald's', but none of the Bridgeport McDonald'ss' have it.

It's hard to beat the Baronet coffee I get at the gas station on my way to work. 16 ounces for $1.09. Good stuff.

Oh, and Starbucks is evil.

2 Personally I find Starbucks' regular coffee to be nearly undrinkable. I drink my coffee black, and that stuff tastes like they roasted the beans on the freakin' SUN. It just tastes burnt.

I've got a theory on it, actually. They make their regular coffee taste like crap to entice you to buy the $4 half-caf skim caramel mocha latte, instead of the (already overpriced) $1.75 large coffee.

So yeah, I don't go to Starbucks much.

Dunkin Donuts, on the other hand, has *EXCELLENT* coffee, including those fancy latte's, and at much cheaper prices. And McDonald's coffee is always very, very good too.
